Ford RideLondon Classique 2023

QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAINS 2023

The first stage consisted of 150 km in beautiful surroundings aroung Essex, London.
After just a few kilometres, two riders got away, and one of them was our rider, Hanna.
It turnes out to be the right move, two mountain sprints and 100 km. later the bunch caught the two riders. The long day in the break resulted in 8 points for Hanna in the mountains competition, and the jersey.

Stage two therefore were all about the jersey! We had to protect Hanna and if it was possible, get her in a breakaway before the first climb of the day. But the sprinters teams wanted something different. The speed was high right from the beginning. Narrow roads and multiple attacks, but nothing stuck and we had to hope for the best and see if we could get Hanna to the front of the bunch before the climbs. Hanna rode amazing and got herself in the front of the bunch right before the climb, but unfortunately she was boxed in. No points, but still four point to number two in the competition.
After the race the announced her as the winner of the jersey. With her 8 point she had the same points as no. two, but because she had two victories in the competition, she kept the jersey.

Third day was once again all about Hanna and her getting to the finishline safe. And the team did exactly that!

WE WON OUR VERY FIRST WORLDTOUR JERSEY!

For our rider Down Under!

Imogen Alton raced The Metropolitan criterium championships this weekend and took home the win for the team.

"I raced aggressevely from the start - used windy conditions to form an early break of three nearly lapping the field"

Trofee Maarten Wynants

Sunday the 7th of May we were back in Belgium.
It was a flat and fast race. Teams like UnoX and UAE ADQ was at the startline, so before the race started, we knew that it was going to be a sprint finish.

The course were 10,6 km and we had to do it 11 time, which meant a lot of breaking, sprinting, and positioning through the enitre race.

A few breakaways went, but we stayed in the bunch, letting the big teams get them back, and as we predicted from the beginning, The race ended with a sprint fininsh. The teams sprinters, Hayley and Camilla secured the team some more UCI points, with a 24th and 25th place. Brownyn and Amalie also finished in the bunch.

New kit day!

The day we have been waiting for and been looking forward to!

We got the 2023 kit just in time for the Ceratizit Festival Elsy Jacobs (UCI 2.pro) stage race.

We are happy to show our new ScimitarSport kit, and the new colors and design.
For two years, our kit has been blue, and this year we thought it was time for a little change. We needed more colors, and the design turned out amazing!!

Vuelta Extremadura Femenina

Vuelta Extremadura Femenina 3 days stage race started with a 7km prolog. With only four riders at the start line and on roadbikes, we knew, that it was going to be a challenge. We were the first team on the course and started this years Vuelta. Despite some mechanical issues on the first half of the race, the team managed to finish 9th.

Second stage was 122 km in headwind, with intermediate sprints and two climbs. Camilla (the teams sprinter) wanted to give it a go, and it was good leadout practice for the team. She managed to get sixth in the first sprint, but unfortunately she crached in the second sprint. She got back up on her bike and finished the race.
Stage result: Hanna - 25th, Karolina - 53rd, Amalie - 55th and Camilla - 64th

Third and last stage was a climbers stage. The riders were nervous, but ready to take on the challenge. Camilla once again did amazing in the sprints finishing 3rd in the first sprint. Amalie punctured 2 km before the second sprint, and used a lot of energy to catch the bunch again. On the first climb the bunch divided in many groups, and it was all about survival from here. All the riders finished the race and gave it their all all the way to the top.

Stage result: Hanna - 42nd, Camilla -45th, Amalie - 67th

GC: Hanna - 38th, Camilla - 55th, Amalie - 69th
